Zeekr launches its new SUV called 7X
The Zeekr 7X is available from upwards of 229,900 yuan (around 29,000 euros). It comes with a battery with a capacity of 75 kWh and a rear-wheel drive with an output of 310 kW. The rear-wheel drive model is also available with a larger battery of 100 kWh at prices starting from 249,900 yuan (around 32,000 euros). The most powerful variant is available with all-wheel drive with an additional 165 kW motor on the front axle and costs 269,900 yuan (around 34,000 euros).
The car is also due to arrive in Europe within a year. Zeekr is currently preparing its launch in Germany; the Zeekr 001 Shooting Brake and the Zeekr X luxury SUV have been available for pre-order there for some time, and the first deliveries are scheduled for this year. Initially, there was talk of launching in Germany in early 2024, but so far, the cars are apparently only available in Sweden and the Netherlands.
The new Zeekr 7X: the SUV is based on the 800-volt version of Geely’s SEA platform and measures 4.82 x 1.93 x 1.66 metres with a wheelbase of just under three metres. According to the Chinese CLTC test cycle, the range of the smaller 75 kWh battery is an impressive 605 kilometres, while the larger 100 kWh battery gives the car a CLTC range of 780 kilometres. The smaller battery uses LFP cells and the larger NMC cells.
The 7X also has the unique feature of a one-button window-breaking system that allows the driver to free themselves with the touch of a button when trapped in the car underwater. According to Zeekr, this is an industry first. The company also claims to have developed the world’s first intelligent child seat with active airbags for the 7X.
