ADM Group will invest 90 million US dollars in charging infrastructure, while Indus Valley will provide the land. Malik Enterprises will be responsible for the installation and obtaining licenses.

Malik Enterprises’ CEO, Malik Khuda Bakhsh said that around 1,000 stations will be set up in Karachi and across Sindh, while 1,500 are to be installed in Punjab, and 750 stations will serve electric vehicles in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

ADM Group also aims to manufacture electric cars in Pakistan with an investment sum of $250 million. It is still unclear whether ADM intends to introduce its own brand for this purpose, as the company has not yet been active as a car manufacturer. It is also conceivable that the company is involved as a contract manufacturer or that it is financing a new factory for an established car manufacturer.

The Chinese investment company will have stiff competition, electric vehicle giant BYD is also setting up shop for electric car manufacturing in Pakistan, said to be operational by 2026.
