Microvast presents battery applications for commercial vehicles
Microvast’s new product range includes the introduction of silicon-based HnSO cells, lithium titanate oxide (LTO) cells and the third-generation MV-I pack. The products are designed to offer an unrivalled combination of energy density, safety and sustainability.
With an energy density of 300 Wh/kg, the HnSO cells offer high energy density, a long service life (over 4,000 cycles) and reduced total cost of ownership, making them ideal for long-distance use in battery and hybrid electric vehicles, according to Microvast.
LTO cells are known for their extreme safety and long service life of up to 20,000 cycles and offer an energy density of 100Wh/kg. They are ideal for ultra-high-performance applications under difficult conditions.
Finally, the third generation of the MV-I-Pack presents a robust, lightweight, ready-to-use solution with an energy density of up to 200 Wh/kg and over 5,000 full cycles. The MV-I Pack integrates Microvast’s 5th generation battery management system (BMS), which ensures compliance with ISO 26262 ASIL-C and advanced cybersecurity standards.
In addition, Microvast will present its 5th generation battery management system, which has been developed to maximise functional safety.
“Our new battery technology marks a significant advancement for electric commercial vehicles, boasting increased energy density. The rapid charging capabilities facilitate enhanced mobility, while the cycle life is reliably extended. We’re driving the future of electric mobility with solutions that improve efficiency and reduce emissions,” says Dr Wenjuan Mattis, CTO of Microvast.
Microvast’s vertically integrated model enables complete control over all phases of development, from research and development to manufacturing. As a result, Microvast achieves faster innovation speeds, on-demand customisation, improved quality and provides commercial vehicle manufacturers with complete, scalable solutions that meet their specific operational requirements.
With over 17 years of manufacturing experience, more than 30,000 battery systems installed worldwide and a global presence in over 34 countries, Microvast sees itself as a trusted partner in the global transition to sustainable transport.
