Isuzu kicks off production of the NRR-EV electric truck
The vehicle is already available to order, with “first deliveries in September 2024”. In terms of technical specifications, the NRR-EV is available with four different battery pack configurations, ranging from 60 to 100, 140 or up to 180 kWh, allowing for different ranges, according to customer needs.
Isuzu’s NRR-EV also offers a range of driver assistance features, such as the Driver Assistance System, which includes a Lane Departure Warning System, Automatic Emergency Braking System, Mis-Acceleration Mitigation, Forward Vehicle Start Notification, and Full-Range Adaptive Cruise Control, as well as a Pedestrian Alert System to warn nearby pedestrians that the quiet vehicle is in motion. The truck also has an electronic power take-off to power auxiliary equipment with 7 kWh of continuous power and a peak output of 26 kWh. An app allows drivers to monitor the cruising distance, battery level, charging status, and charging history.
“Isuzu teams overseas and here in North America have worked tirelessly to bring the NRR-EV from concept to reality,” said Shaun Skinner, President of ICTA and ICTC. “Start of production marks a pivotal moment for us. This vehicle not only showcases our technological prowess but also our dedication to sustainability and innovation. We are incredibly excited to start seeing our EV on the road and in the hands of our customers.”
