Daimler Truck Financial Services offers more electric mobility packages
As “a holistic provider of integrated service solutions,” DTFS will offer, for example, charging solutions and infrastructure. It will also expand its rental business and set up its own payment solution, DTFS says in its press release, adding that “customers in many markets can already flexibly bundle the various components at fixed monthly rates.”
For example, DTFS has been working with Electrada in the US since last year, offering Charging as a Service (CaaS). The offer was deployed for the first time there earlier this year, as Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) continues electrifying its logistics network and logistics partner Salem Carriers opted for Freightliner eCascadia vehicles for daily inbound logistics routes in North Carolina. Electrada will be in charge of deploying fleet charging infrastructure, ownership, operation, and energy management.
Another example is the ‘Green Lease’ programme. It comprises an ecosystem around the EV truck, including maintenance services and special warranties. The offer was first communicated in 2023, when Daimler Truck subsidiary Fuso scored a record order for its eCanter truck in Japan. Logistics company Yamato Transport ordered around 900 units and signed up for Green Lease by Daimler Truck Financial Services Asia.
In Europe, Daimler Truck launched ‘TruckCharge‘ to bundle its existing and future offerings related to EV infrastructure and electric truck charging, including consulting, hardware, and digital services. The new brand will officially launch at the IAA Transportation in Germany next week.
“The transformation into a holistic provider of integrated service solutions reflects our commitment to help shape the future of emission-free transport,” says CEO Stephan Unger. “Our approach ensures that customers can not only finance a vehicle, but also include the charging infrastructure and electricity in their total cost of ownership (TCO) at fixed monthly installments. This will enable customers to add electric trucks and buses to their portfolio with predictable costs and reduced risk.”
