Electrify America & 4 Gen Logistics build truck chargers in California

Electrify America and 4 Gen Logistics have announced the opening of a charging station hub in Rialto, California to support 4 Gen’s expanding fleet of zero-emission class 8 drayage trucks.

In addition to the 14 Hyper-Fast chargers with charging speeds up to 350 kW, the Rialto facility is part of a broader initiative to reduce tailpipe emissions in the Southern California region. The initiators initially plan to focus their efforts around the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles and will build 44 chargers across Rialto and the Port of Long Beach in the first phase.

The project was partially funded via Electrify America’s $25 million ‘Green City’ investment, which is to support medium- and heavy-duty electrification projects in Long Beach and the Wilmington neighbourhood of Los Angeles.

Just last month, 4 Gen Logistics pledged to drive sustainable goods transport forward in the USA, mainly through the acquisition of a fleet of electric trucks for its operations. The electric truck fleet initially made its start in 2022, when 4 Gen ordered a fleet of 41 VNR Electric trucks from Volvo Trucks.
