The fully electric Movano van has been out for a few years now, and the Stellantis subsidiary has been looking to break into the fuel cell business with its vehicles as announced earlier this year. Now the Movano Hydrogen is joining the lineup, making its debut at the IAA in Germany, following the steps of the Vivaro Hydrogen, which entered production in late 2021.

In terms of technical specifications, Opel promises a 500 km range according to WLTP and claims that the fuel cell van can be filled up in less than five minutes, as well as offering “the full flexibility and loading volume of all other Movano variants.” The electric drive offers 110 kW of power and a maximum torque of 410 Nm. An 11 kWh lithium-ion battery provides support when the vehicle is starting or accelerating, acting as a hybrid system, utilizing braking energy that can be recuperated and fed into the battery as electricity via the electric motor working as a generator. In terms of storage space, the Movano Hydrogen features up to 17 m3 of cargo and a payload capacity of up to 1,370 kilogrammes, depending on the variant.

In addition to the fuel cell variant of the Movano, the BEV models Opel Combo Electric, Citroën E-Berlingo Crew Van, Peugeot e-Expert Fridge with EPTO and Fiat Professional E-Ducato Cargo Box will also take centre stage at the trade fair stand. In addition, the new Opel Rocks Electric quadricycle with a KARGO kit for delivery services will also be on display in Hanover. Here, Stellantis lauds the “ultra-compact dimensions of 2.41 x 1.39 x 1.52 metres” of the vehicle, which makes the two-seater appropriate for packed, urban areas, and can be turned into a delivery vehicle with the kit. The range for the Opel Rocks Electric is set at up to 75 kilometres, “the ideal combination for locally emissions-free delivery of packages, fast food or medicines, especially in urban areas,” Stellantis writes.

Next to the new models, the Opel Combo Electric is being presented with a “fresh new look.” While the Combo Electric and Zafira Electric were updated towards the end of last year, the manufacturer has opted to upgrade the vehicle’s lighting technology with the “glare-free Intelli-Lux Matrix Light.” The design remains largely unchanged, however, as Stellantis writes: “The new edition of the compact Opel LCV is instantly recognisable and unmistakable, with a newly designed front and the characteristic Opel Vizor brand face.”
