Cupra takes reservations for the Tavascan in the UK
By paying a 99-pound reservation fee, reservation holders will “be prioritised to own one of the first 50 cars on the road in the UK,” says Cupra. Moreover, the reservation fee is refunded after seven days, regardless of whether or not the customer places a binding order.
Cupra, a sub-brand of Volkswagen’s Seat brand, presented the Tavascan in April 2023. The EV will be available in four variants with power outputs of 210 or 250 kW. The latter has a dual-motor and all-wheel drive. All variants come with a 77 kWh battery pack and offer a maximum range of 352 miles, which is about 566 kilometres. The battery can be charged with up to 11 kW AC and 135 kW DC.
In the UK, buyers will either receive a complimentary Ohme charger with their new Tavascan or a 700-pound charging voucher.
“We’re really excited about the Tavascan opening for order in the UK. This is a culmination of years of hard work, innovation, and design coming together to create the future of Cupra,” says Marcus Gossen, Director of Seat and Cupra UK. “We’re equally thrilled to be able to offer customers the chance to reserve the first 50 TavascansTavascan’s early, prioritising their order and making them one of the first on the road in the UK.
The Cupra Tavascan is based on Volkswagen’s MEB platform and has been rolling off the production line in Anhui, China, since the end of 2023. According to a 2022 report by Bloomberg, Cupra is building the Tavascan in China because capacity in Europe is limited. The brand’s first electric model, the Cupra Born, is manufactured in Zwickau.
