US conversion company turns ID. Buzz into a camper van
Peace Vans claims to have spent six months working with Volkswagen on a range of equipment to turn the ID. Buzz into a camping van. Customers now have a choice of three solutions: The electric minibus with kitchen (‘Buzz.Box’), with kitchen and bed (‘Buzz.Box.Sleeper’) or with full equipment (‘Buzz.Camper’) including interior cupboards, table, etc. While the first two versions ‘only’ require the third row of seats to be taken out, the fully equipped version also requires removing the second bench seat.
Peace Vans states that it will offer camper versions of the ID. Buzz from November 2024 via selected dealers, direct shipping or on-site installation. Harley Sitner, owner of Peace Vans, says: “We’ve been waiting for the ID. Buzz for some time. We were fortunate enough to experience some early pre-production units, loved what we saw, and decided to build out entirely new solutions crafted exclusively for the ID. Buzz.”
The new range created by the US conversion company is directly linked to the comeback of the VW Bus in the USA and Canada. Volkswagen celebrated its return there with the extended ID. Buzz last year. Compared to the normal-length ID. Buzz available in Europe, the wheelbase of the extended version has been stretched by 25 centimetres to 3.25 metres, making the vehicle 4.96 instead of 4.71 metres in length. It also has a third row of seats. In contrast to North America, both the short and long versions are available in Europe. VWCV also just extended its ID. Buzz portfolio.
