Gentari to supply EVs to Amazon India’s delivery service partners
Gentari will not only offer EVs to Amazon’s third-party delivery service partners (DSPs). It will provide comprehensive fleet management services, such as setting up EV charging points and offering electric vehicles through a Vehicle-as-a-Service (VaaS) subscription model. The agreement has a term of three years.
According to local media, Amazon already had 7,200 electric delivery vehicles on the road in India at the end of last year. The goal is to increase that number to 10,000 units by 2025. And it seems the online reseller is well on track.
“We aim to empower our delivery service partners by providing them access to the right electric vehicles, end-to-end vehicle life cycle management services, as well as charging and parking facilities,” Abhinav Singh, VP (Operations) at Amazon India, is quoted saying by Business Standard.
“As we work together to deploy more EVs and contribute to India’s net zero targets, I’m confident this collaboration will pave the way for a cleaner and electric future for India’s transportation sector,” Nikhil Thomas, CEO of Gentari Green Mobility India, told media.
