Aehra provided an initial preview of its first model back in November 2022, when the Milan-based electric car startup showed the first images of an SUV model positioned in the luxury segment. It was said that the vehicle is set to deliver between 550 and 600 kW and offer a range of over 800 kilometres. This vehicle is now called Impeto and production is scheduled to start in mid-2026.

Production of the Estasi saloon, which Aehra also presented in June 2023 without a name, is also scheduled to start in mid-2026. The SUV and saloon are not only similar in design – both models come with spectacular gullwing doors, for example. Large parts of the drive technology are also identical: the battery developed together with Miba Battery Systems should help the Aehra saloon and SUV achieve ranges of 800 kilometres.

In addition to unveiling the names for both models, Aehra has also announced some information about the planned production. The company has submitted a development plan worth 1.2 billion euros to the Ministry of Industry and Made in Italy, which controls the Italian Automobile Fund, for the construction of a state-of-the-art production plant. According to the plan, Aehra will create a new production campus in Mosciano Sant’ Angelo in the Abruzzo region in the centre of Italy.

Commenting on the choice of location, CEO Hazim Nada says: “Abruzzo is home to Italy’s world-leading carbon fiber industry. This factor will prove critical to the creation of the carbon fiber monocoque that sits at the heart of the AEHRA Sedan and SUV models and represents a world-first for mainstream production vehicles. As an area of special regional development, Abruzzo unlocks further fiscal advantages.”

The ground-breaking ceremony for the 207,000 square metre plant, which has already been designed, will take place this year. Aehra plans to create 540 new jobs at the new car factory and another 110 new jobs at its headquarters in Milan. Production at the new factory is scheduled to start in mid-2026 with the Impeto and Estasi. Aehra is targeting production of 25,000 units per model per year.
