Hyster launches new electric forklift trucks
According to the company, the new electric forklift models are just as suitable for use in industrial warehouses as they are for outdoor logistics applications, yards and loading areas in the wood, metal, chemical or building materials industries. The Hyster J2.0-3.5XTLG series is designed to offer a durable, flexible and emission-free solution for indoor and outdoor applications. Their robust performance is comparable to that of a forklift truck with a combustion engine, Hyster says.
“Many industrial businesses are looking to drive down emissions and are keen to replace ICE models with electric fleets. But they need to do so cost-effectively, while maintaining high performance and productivity,” said Fraser Brash, Product Manager at Hyster. “The new Hyster lift trucks are a competitively priced, emission free option with tried and tested toughness built in.”
The lithium-ion battery offers productivity benefits: Charging the trucks during breaks can maximise shift operating time. The battery itself is maintenance-free. The elimination of engine maintenance and battery changes also means that no valuable operating time is lost. Compared to models with a combustion engine, energy costs can generally be halved with the new Hyster models. With a long battery life and a five-year warranty included, the forklift trucks represent added value.
Customers can choose between models with 154 V or 115 V batteries. This allows them to match the energy requirement to the operating intensity. According to the company, the battery capacity of the Hyster J2.0-3.5XTLG models is larger than that of many competitor products as standard to ensure longer running times and less downtime.
“When you combine lithium-ion power with Hyster toughness, you get Clean Power that Means Business – a lift truck solution fit for strict emissions regulations, which keeps productivity high, and costs low,” says Product Manager Fraser.
The new design of the Hyster J2.0-3.5XTLG series includes features such as up to 34 per cent better visibility through the mast, a spacious and weatherproof cab, large superelastic tyres and high ground clearance. This allows forklift drivers to work productively even on uneven surfaces and in difficult weather conditions.
