Alpine A290 starts at 38,700 euros in Germany and France
Alpine offers the entry-level model, the A290 GT, with 130 kW of power for 38,700 euros. The next variant, the A290 GT Premium, also comes with 130 kW for 41,700 euros. The A290 GT Performance (from 41,900 euros) and A290 GTS (from 44,700 euros) versions deliver 160 kW. In France, the A290 qualifies for a €4,000 rebate.
The electric Renault 5, on which the Alpine A290 is based, has been available to order since the end of May at prices starting from 32,900 euros. The same battery with 52 kWh energy content is installed in both models. The cheaper Renault 5 with a 40 kWh battery for 24,900 euros is not due to follow until 2025—but Alpine only offers the 52 kWh battery.
As the Renault Group’s sports car brand, Alpine has not only adapted the look of the model – for example, with the four-light brand face – but has also introduced sporty elements to the technology. For example, some of the switches on the steering wheel are inspired by Formula 1. “The exclusive three-spoke sports steering wheel includes the RCH (for Recharge) rotary knob and the OV (for Overtake) button straight from the world of Formula 1 racing,” says the carmaker.

Alpine also emphasises the extensive standard equipment of the A290. Even the GT comes with Michelin Sport EV tyres and 19-inch alloy wheels as well as a steering wheel covered in nappa leather. Heated front seats, tinted windows, automatic air conditioning and ambient lighting are also included as standard. The GT Premium is complemented by further equipment details such as the two-tone paintwork with black roof, the matt blue roof line and the Brembo brake callipers in ‘Alpine Blue’ – the ‘Alpine Drive Sound’ is also available here. In addition to more power, the GT Performance comes with red Brembo brake callipers and Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres. And the top model A290 GTS combines the equipment of the GT Premium with the increased power of the GT Performance.
Alpine will launch the A290 in a limited special series at the end of the year. This fifth version will be called the A290 Première Édition and will be available from 46,200 euros. The latter is available in four variants. The ‘Première Édition’ with Black Pearl bodywork, the ‘Première Édition Beta’ with Pearlescent White two-tone bodywork, the ‘Bleue Première Edition,’ and the ‘Grise Première Edition.’ A total of 1,955 units of the limited special series will be produced, a symbolic number that commemorates the year in which Alpine was founded by Jean Rédélé,’ the manufacturer explains.
