Farizon Auto presents ‘Black Tortoise’ commercial vehicle battery
The new commercial vehicle battery, which boasts an impressive service life of 10 years and 800,000 km, has already found its first use in the field: Farizon Auto’s electric commercial transporter van V7E will be the first model with this battery installed. Later, additional models such as the smaller transporter model Farizon V6E Plus will follow.
Farizon’s V7E was launched in April and will soon feature the new ‘Black Tortoise Battery’ starting at prices of 149,800 yuan (approximately 20,600 USD) in China.
With the new battery, the Farizon V7E is estimated to have a CLTC range of 305 km, however, Geely tested the range at 285 km. It also allows for a liquid-cooling fast charging system that can handle over 6000 charge cycles per cell. 4C fast charging and 2C continuous fast charging are both also supported. This technology allows the battery to charge power worth 200 km of range in about 10 minute of charging time. The cell chemistry itself has not been revealed, however, the news portal Carnewschina expects it to be an LFP cell.
Things had been quiet around the Chinese manufacturer lately, which had presented a whole vehicle family concept line-up in 2022, as well as closing a funding round with $600 million last year to expand its business. The capital was to be used for “further research and development activities, its ecosystem, and global expansion.” Farizon Auto was established by Geely in 2016 to concentrate on the development and sales of commercial new energy vehicles in China.
