Skoda introduces two new entry-level Enyaq in the UK

Skoda now offers the Enyaq 50 and Enyaq 50 Edition electric SUV in the UK. Prices start at £36,970, making them about £2,000 cheaper than the current entry-level model, the Enyaq 60, which they will replace in the line-up.

Both variants have a 55 kWh battery (52 kWh net) and offer up to 234 miles of range (377 km). The battery is thus only a little smaller than in the Enyaq 60, which is fitted with a 58 kWh (net) battery. The latter offers a range of 249 miles (about 400 km).

Both models also have a rear-mounted electric drive, which generates 170 PS (compared to 179 PS in the Enyaq 60) 310Nm of torque. The new Enyaq will complete the sprint from zero to 62 mph in 9.1 seconds and has a top speed of 99 mph, the same as the outgoing Enyaq 60.

In terms of charging, things have actually improved. The outgoing Enyaq 60 could charge with up to 120 kW DC and 11 kW AC, while the new variants “offer a peak DC charge speed of 145kW and 11kW on an AC connection.” That also means that the DC charging time to 80 per cent SoC has been reduced from 35 to 25 minutes.

The Enyaq 50 starts at £36,970 in the UK, while the Enyaq 50 Edition sells from £38,585. It is important to note that the Enyaq 50 and Enyaq 50 Edition are not an addition to the Enyaq line-up. They are replacing the outgoing Enyaq 60 models.

The line-up also includes the “Enyaq 85 Edition, Enyaq 85x Sportline Plus, Enyaq 85 L&K and the range-topping Enyaq vRS.” Skoda notes that all Enyaq 85 models come with a 82kWh (77kWh net) battery pack.
