Established in March 2023, Refex Green Mobility is an EV startup based in Bengaluru. The company targets corporate customers like employees from software companies, prominent banks, and companies into back-office services with a big staff with the Refex eVeelz electric taxis.

Last month, Refex Green Mobility ventured into airport taxis in Bengaluru. The company gives women riders a special option to book electric taxis driven by women for these airport transfers. During parent company Refex Industries’ Q4 and FY2024 earnings conference call in May, Chairman and Managing Director Anil Jain said Refex Green Mobility will build a fleet of 660 vehicles for this service by July.

Jain also said that Refex Green Mobility will enter two new metro cities by September – Pune (Maharashtra) and Hyderabad (Telangana). The company had 479 vehicles in the Refex eVeelz 100% EV fleet back in May and plans to expand it to 2,000 units by December. In addition to Citroën’s ë-C3, it uses domestic automaker Tata Motors’ Tigor EV.

Indian companies are showing a rising preference for the ë-C3 for their EV fleets. In March, BluSmart signed an MoU to procure 4,000 units by March next year. In May, OHM E Logistics ordered 1,000 units, intending to purchase them all by June next year. Last month, Cab-E agreed to add 2,000 units to its fleet over 12 months.

Citroën offers the ë-C3 in India with a permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces 57 kW and 143 Nm of torque and an air-cooled 29.2 kWh LFP battery pack. The low-cost EV hits 0 to 60 kph in 6.8 and achieves a top speed of 107 kph. According to the Modified Indian Driving Cycle (MIDC), it delivers a range of 320 km.
