Porsche now offers two new versions of the all-electric Macan. The new entry-level version is the Porsche Macan with rear-wheel drive, while the new Macan 4S sits between the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo.

The new RWD variant offers an output of 250 kW (340 PS) and a top speed of 220 kph. It can go from zero to 100 kph in just 5.7 seconds – the Macan 4 takes 5.2 seconds for the same sprint. The WLTP range is 641 kilometres. To compare: the Macan 4 Electric and Macan Turbo Electric have a WLTP range of 613 km and 591 km, respectively.

Porsche speaks of a diameter of 230 millimetres for the electric motor and an active length of 150 millimetres. In the Macan 4, the rear engine has a diameter of 210 millimetres and an active length of 200 millimetres. For the most powerful Macan variant, the sports car manufacturer specifies a diameter of 230 millimetres and an active length of 210 millimetres – read more about this in our background article on the Macan.

However, all three variants use the same front axle motor. For the new Macan 4S, this means an output of up to 330 kW (overboost output with Launch Control is 380 kW) and a maximum torque of 820 Nm (with Launch Control). The electric car can sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds. The top speed is given as 240 km/h. According to Porsche, the Macan 4S has a combined WLTP range of up to 606 kilometres.

Just like the variants already available, the rear-wheel-drive Macan and the Macan 4S use a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery pack (95 kWh net) that operates at 800 volts and can accept charging at up to 11 kW (AC)/270 kW (DC). Porsche says that, “at a suitable fast-charging station,” the battery can be charged in around 21 minutes from 10 to 80 per cent.

In the UK, the new Macan starts at 67,200 pounds and the Macan 4S at 75,400 pounds.
