UPS adds 100 Iveco eDaily to its delivery fleet in Paris
The press release does not clarify whether the 100 EVs have already been delivered or will hit the streets of Paris at a later date. UPS also does not mention any technical details. It only says that the transporters are “custom-made for UPS” and offer a range of up to 142 miles (228 kilometres).
“Our customers look to us for efficient, reliable and sustainable supply chain solutions,” says Artur Drenk, UPS sustainability director in Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. “Innovative technology like our EVs ensures that we meet our customers’ needs while reducing our environmental impact.”
The new electric vehicles for the Parisian delivery fleet are part of UPS’ plan to have 600 electric delivery vehicles in Europe by the end of 2024. However, the company does not clarify whether that includes electric vehicles already in service or only new additions to the fleet. It is also not clear whether these will all be electric transporters or whether electric bikes or so-called eQuads will be part of the mix. UPS uses the latter in Cambridge, for example.
