Vauxhall introduces further offers for the Combo Electric in the UK
With the new offering, Vauxhall is attempting to equalise the cost differential for the lease of an electric versus a diesel vehicle. Furthermore, the company calculates energy savings of up to £91 per month over the cost of fuelling the vehicle with diesel, based on an estimate of drivers spending about 6,000 miles on the road per year, or about 500 miles per month.
The deal itself concerns both the standard Combo Electric, as well as the ‘Pro’ trim variant, which are now available for £329 per month over five years with a £1,974 deposit, or £365 per month for the Pro trim, which requires a a £2,190 deposit. Buyers can further benefit from the ULEZ van scrappage scheme.
“The removal of any additional upfront cost for van drivers looking to go electric is a significant step in our ambition to make electric mobility accessible to all,” explained James Taylor, Managing Director of Vauxhall, adding: “With identical monthly payments and lower running costs, it will allow Combo Electric customers to realise significant savings compared to the equivalent diesel version over the life of the vehicle. Manufactured at our Ellesmere Port plant, we are proud to offer businesses a British-built electric vehicle for such outstanding value.”
In terms of technical specifications, the Combo Electric is based on the EMP2 base and runs on a 100 kW drive from Vitesco, coupled with a 50 kWh battery. This allows for a range of up to 213 miles and the battery can be charged from 0-80% in 30 minutes at a 100kW charging station.
