The Mobility House changes CEO and starts V2G business
Robert Hienz was promoted from COO of the company to CEO in 2021 and took up a new CEO position at Solarpack Germany in May just passed. With leadership and organisational restructuring, The Mobility House is strategically focusing on its energy business and positioning itself for the market launch of bidirectional charging. The company has explained that with the introduction of “The Mobility House Energy” business unit, the integration of electric car batteries into the energy system as a forward-looking solution will be driven forward with even greater focus.
Thomas Raffeiner, founder of The Mobility House, will drive the topic forward as CEO together with Herbert Diess, Chairman of the Board of Directors, as the former Volkswagen boss has headed the Munich-based company’s Board of Directors since the beginning of the year.
In the vehicle-to-grid sector, the TMH has not only implemented several pilot projects together with energy suppliers and car manufacturers, from bidirectional charging to second-life battery storage but is already marketing around 100 MWh or 4,500 stationary first- and second-life vehicle batteries in Germany, France and the Netherlands. These batteries are used in energy and power markets as well as in various products.
The Mobility House is also working with Renault to bring the V2G function to series production in the electric Renault 5. To this end, the Munich-based company is contributing electricity contracts in several countries that serve to market the energy fed into the grid.
