Zeekr builds right-hand drive Zeekr X
The Geely subsidiary started taking reservations for the right-hand drive versions of the Zeekr X and Zeekr 009 MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) on 25 March in Thailand. Other markets will follow.
According to a report by CN EV Post, Zeekr signed partnerships with several dealers in Thailand. In Singapore, it will work with Premium Auto to get its EVs on the road, while the carmaker will work with local distributor Kam Lung Motor Group in Hong Kong.
Like the first two Zeekr models, 001 and 009, the Zeekr X is based on Geely’s SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) electric car platform. It uses a 66 kWh battery. In the Chinese CLTC cycle, the Zeekr X has a range of up to 560 kilometres. And it is also available with all-wheel drive, which increases the output to 315 kW. This drive offers a total of 543 Nm of torque and can accelerate the vehicle to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.
The left-hand variant is already available in China, as well as in some European countries. And Zeekr’s sales figures are on the rise. In April, Zeekr reached a new high since its launch with 16,089 vehicles delivered. That is 98.61 per cent more than the 8,101 vehicles in April 2023 and 23.65 per cent more than the 13,012 vehicles in March 2024.
Moreover, the Chinese carmaker debuted on the US stock exchange in mid-May. According to Zeekr, it intends to use the funds raised from the listing to further develop new technologies and products and expand its sales, marketing, and shop network worldwide.
