The Smart #1 will gain new ‘Pure’ and ‘Pure+’ trims in European markets by early summer, and in Austria, customers can already order the all-electric urban crossover in these trims. The Pure trim has become the new base offering, while the Pure+ trim sits above the previous base trim ‘Pro’. In total, the Smart #1 range now consists of seven trims.

Powering the Smart #1 in the Pure and Pure+ trims is a permanent magnet synchronous motor in the rear, producing 200 kW and 343 Nm of torque. Accelerating from 0 to 100 kph takes 6.7 seconds and the top speed is 180 kph. While the output and performance are the same in both trims, the range varies. smart uses a 49 kWh LFP battery pack in the #1 Pure and a 66 kWh NCM battery pack in the #1 Pure+.

The #1 Pure supports charging at up to 7.4 kW on an AC charger or 130 kW via DC. Charging it from 10 to 80% takes 5.5 hours on an AC, while the DC charging process can be completed in 30 minutes. The #1 Pure+ supports charging at up to 22 kW on AC or 150 kW DC. With this variant, the 10-80% charging session takes 3 hours on AC or the same 30 minutes via DC charging. With the battery pack fully charged, while the #1 Pure can cover a distance of just 310 km (WLTP), the #1 Pure+ can keep going till 420 km (WLTP), which makes it more practical for long journeys.

Both Smart #1 Pure and Smart #1 Pure+ flaunt CyberSparks LED headlights, 18-inch Spark wheels, electrically extending, flush-fitted door handles, and LED tail lamps for a modern and sophisticated styling. Inside, they include a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 9.2-inch full HD digital instrument cluster, and fabric seats and a matching fabric-wrapped dashboard. On the safety front, Adaptive Cruise Control with stop & go, smart pilot assist, and four rear parking sensors are among the highlight features.

In Austria, the Smart #1 Pro and Smart #1 Pure+ cost €36,200 and €41,200, respectively. A €1,810 summer bonus, a €2,400 e-mobility bonus, and €3,000 funding from the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology make them much more accessible. The promotion and incentives reduce their retail prices by a whopping €7,210 to €28,990 and €33,990, respectively.
