Polestar joins forces with Zaptec as home charging partner for Europe
According to Polestar, the Zaptec Go wall box is compatible with all vehicles in the Polestar range, including the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, for which the first European customer deliveries are expected this summer. Zaptec is a Norwegian charging infrastructure manufacturer, so both partners share a Nordic heritage. The Zaptec Go offers up to 22 kW and therefore a “fast and reliable home charging experience”, as Polestar emphasises.
The collaboration between Polestar and Zaptec also includes a long-term strategic partnership for future vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and bidirectional charging solutions. Lutz Stiegler, CTO of Polestar, describes the partnership with Zaptec as an important step in providing European customers with seamless and effective home charging solutions ahead of the first deliveries of the two electric performance SUVs Polestar 3 and Polestar 4. “Together with Zaptec we will also continue developments on innovative charging tech to deliver features like smart charging, bidirectional charging and vehicle-to-grid to our customers in the future.”
Kurt Østrem, CEO of Zaptec, comments that with this partnership his company is “embarking on an incredibly exciting journey in Europe, particularly with our vehicle-to-grid technology.”
