Rizon presents two new electric truck models
The new models, the e18Mx and e18Lx, will be available to order for the 2025 model year. According to Rizon, both offer “upgrades payload capacity” compared to the brand’s current models. Specifically, they can move a total of “18,850 pounds [roughly 8.5 tonnes], compared to 17,995 pounds [about 8.2 tonnes] for the current models.”
Rizon has not yet released any technical details about the powertrain. But it does mention that the electric trucks will have a range of up to 160 miles (257 kilometres) and “support both Level 2 AC and DC fast charging.” The manufacturer says both models will be available with different body options, such as box trucks and stake beds, making them ideal for urban and last-mile deliveries. Moreover, they “feature a tight turning radius ideal for city driving.”
In addition to the new models, Rizon also updated its warranty package. According to the press release, the latter now covers the powertrain and high-voltage electrical equipment for 8 years/120,000 miles and the high-voltage batteries for 8 years/185,000 miles.
Daimler Truck launched its new brand for medium-duty electric trucks in the US in April 2023. It currently offers four model variants: the e16L, e16M, e18L, and e18M. They all have a range of 110 to 160 miles (177 to 257 km). Just recently, Rizon also made its electric trucks available in Canada.
“A lot has happened since then including customer handovers and Rizon’s entry into the Canadian market,” said Andreas Deuschle, the Global Head of Rizon Truck. “Now we are ready to offer our Model Year 2025 trucks. By increasing the gross vehicle weight and updating the warranty, Rizon is taking an important step forward to provide customers with the best solutions for their businesses.”
