Switch Mobility to deliver 2,500 small electric trucks to MoEVing
Switch Mobility, the UK subsidiary of Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland, just launched the IeV4 recently. There are two versions of the electric light commercial vehicle (eLCVs) available. One has a 25.6 kWh battery and a 40 kW powertrain; the other has a 32.2 kWh battery and a powertrain offering 60 kW. In both cases, the range is 120 kilometres, while the top speed is limited to 70 and 80 kph, respectively.
According to local media reports, MoEVing opted for the larger version. It has a payload of 1.7 tonnes (FSD), a 2.6-metre wheelbase and a Gross Vehicle Weight of 3.5 tonnes.
“Our SWITCH IeV4, which is India’s first eLCV in the 3.5-ton category, is built on a cutting-edge 310V high-voltage architecture for enhanced performance,” Mahesh Babu, CEO of SWITCH Mobility, told Autocar Professional. “Our vehicle offers superior payload, extended range and maximised volumetric space, all resulting in a significantly better TCO, making the SWITCH IeV4 the smarter choice for a greener future.”
Moreover, Switch delivered the first five leV4 to MoEVing, part on an initial order for 100 vehicles.
MoEVing helps business electrify their logistic operations. The company was founded in 2021, has a fleet of more than 2,000 electric vehicles, and operates some 30 charging hubs in 16 Indian cities.
