Transport UK London Bus electrifies bus line in London

A fleet of Wrightbus Electroliner electric buses has hit the street on London route 306. The route will now be served exclusively by Transport UK London Bus' electric buses.

The operator Transport UK London Bus was formerly known as Abellio London. The public transport operator is now further expanding its zero-emission fleet across its six depots, all of which have been enabled for EV routes. According to UK London Bus, this is also the first operator to achieve this in London.

Abellio London kicked off the process late last year, when 80 electric buses were ordered from Wrightbus, to be delivered throughout 2024. The order included 24 GB Kite Electroliner solo buses and 56 StreetDeck Electroliner double-deckers. At the time, Jon Eardley, Managing Director of Abellio, stated: “Abellio sits at the forefront of EV bus technology in London, leading the way with the introduction of zero-emission buses across our six London depots.”
