Vauxhall launches special edition Mokka Electric Griffin
That makes the new edition about 7,000 pounds cheaper than the Design trim, the carmaker specifies. Moreover, customers can choose from the full Mokka exterior colour palette at no extra cost.
The Mokka Electric Griffin is fitted with a 50 kWh battery and can go up to 209 miles on one charge, according to WLTP. The electric motor produces 136 hp and 260 Nm of torque. The vehicle can fast-charge. According to Vauxhall, it takes “just 30 minutes” at a 100 kW DC charger to charge the battery from zero to 80 per cent.
In terms of design and features, the new edition” builds on the already highly-equipped Design trim, offering a suite of connectivity features as standard,” such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has a 7-inch colour touchscreen and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster.
Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel also come standard. As does “keyless start” and “LED headlights, tail lights and daytime running lights with high beam assist, plus an array of driver-assistance tech.”
Buyers also benefit from one of Vauxhall’s latest incentive programmes: The carmaker will offer one year’s free EV charging credit at Tesco stores. Tesco offers 2,700 charging bays spread across its 619 store locations in the UK. Depending on the EV location, drivers can charge with 7 to 75 kW. As part of the partnership, all stations “will be updated with a Vauxhall & Tesco co-branded livery,” Vauxhall announced in February.
The EV can be ordered from 17 April. Vauxhall expects to hand over first units to customers in June. The number of Mokka Electric Griffin is limited – though Vauxhall does not mention how many units it plans to manufacture.
