Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV starts at over 200,000 euros

Following its market launch in the US last year, Maybach's first all-electric model is now also available to order from sales partners in Germany "and other European markets."

In Germany, the base price for the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV is €200,634. The model is based on the well-known EQS SUV under the Mercedes-Benz brand, but is intended to combine the technology with the exclusivity of Maybach.

The first electric Maybach has the same battery in its underbody as the EQE, with a usable energy content of 107.8 kWh. That is enough for a WLTP range of up to 612 kilometres. The Maybach has a drive output of 484 kW, while the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV 580 4MATIC has a maximum output of 400 kW. With this drive system, the EQS SUV is listed in the Mercedes configurator at prices starting from €147,922.95; with rear-wheel drive (as the EQS SUV 450+), the model series is available from €110,800.90.

For the almost 50,000 euro surcharge, the customer gets 84 kW more power and more features (including the otherwise optional 22 kW AC charger as standard in the Maybach), more comfort (e.g. ex works “Executive” rear seats with ventilation, massage function and neck and shoulder heating) and the optional “First-Class Rear” package, offering even more luxury.

In the press release, the manufacturer emphasises the “elegant design, with customary elements such as the Maybach emblem or the Maybach radiator grille,” the “brand-typical two-tone paintwork with its filigree pinstripe,” which is available as an option (and at extra cost), and the interior, which is “designed like an elegant lounge with a holistic comfort experience for all the senses.”

However, there is one less exclusive aspect: the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV can be configured online like any other Mercedes model. And there it quickly becomes clear that the 200,634 euros are just the beginning. The exclusive “Night Series” costs a hefty 29,750 euros extra in Germany and is only available in combination with the aforementioned first-class rear for 17,017 euros. The price rises to 247,401 euros with just two clicks – before any individual equipment details.
