Blink Charging to establish new HQ in Maryland
Blink Charging has established its global corporate headquarters in a 15,000-foot facility in Bowie, Maryland. Blink has also announced plans to increase its manufacturing capacity by constructing a new 30,000-square-foot production facility. Blink’s current manufacturing facility produces around 15,000 EV charging units per year.
The decision to move to Maryland is closely linked with the company’s acquisition of SemaConnect and its manufacturing facilities in the area. The location is also near the US capitol, Washington DC. The new facility is planned to function as the company’s central manufacturing hub for North America, and is planned to have capacities for interoperability testing, charger certification with MET Labs, test events and a research and development laboratory.
“Blink Charging is proud and excited to be establishing our global headquarters and production facility in Maryland, marking a pivotal moment in our journey toward a greener future,” said Blink President and CEO Brendan Jones. “We are committed to implementing innovative technology and manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, capability, and output speed while maintaining quality standards.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Blink’s headquarters to the Great State of Maryland. This decision doesn’t just affirm our commitment to climate action – it also supports our work to create new jobs and make Maryland more competitive,” said Governor Wes Moore, adding: “Together, we will meet our goal of achieving 100% clean energy by 2035, and we will ensure that climate justice drives economic justice.”
