Technotrans to supply cooling system for ADS-TEC charging station
The storage-based ChargePost is a charging station that can provide a charging capacity of up to 300 kW. The rectangular charging system, measuring 1.3 x 1.5 x 2.4 metres, has two HPC connections, between 144 and 201 kWh battery capacity and up to two 75-inch advertising displays across the entire height of the outer surface.
The Technotrans system features both active cooling using a power-controlled compressor chiller and passive cooling using a free cooler, as the company explained its own solution last year. The passive variant utilises the ambient air for cooling and is therefore “particularly energy-efficient” according to the manufacturer. ADS-TEC Energy can also access the system remotely to determine maintenance requirements and monitor operation.
In addition to the power electronics and the battery storage unit, the Technotrans solution also cools the two large advertising displays. The cooling system is to be characterised in particular by a high cooling capacity in a very small installation space and energy-efficient operation.
The new order, with a volume in the high single-digit million euro range and a term of one year, follows on seamlessly from the first order placed in 2023. Production of the cooling solutions is set to begin in May of this year. Once again, the systems will be manufactured at the Technotrans production site in Steinhagen.
