Rivian R1S now available for leasing in the US
Only two months after first introducing its first leasing programme for the R1T pickup, Rivian has expanded its leasing offers to include its other flagship EV; the R1S electric SUV. In addition, the US American automobile manufacturer extended its lease programme to an additional territory in the US, with Illinois, where the vehicles are built.
In terms of cost for the lease, after paying a $1,000 deposit and the $8,951 amount due at signing, customers must pay a monthly sum of $1,056. The lease lasts for 36 months and has an annual mileage of 10,000 miles, while the vehicle’s total value comes up to $93,750, as the manufacturer writes.
Rivian has been on an expansion course lately, building a new factory in the US state of Georgia, where the R1S will also be manufactured. The R1S had some launch difficulties, with a delay announced in 2020, before additional financing saved the day and the launch edition sold out quickly. In 2022, the first model was delivered abroad in Canada.
In terms of technical specifications, the R1S is capable of a range of up to 400 miles in the dual motor variants with the largest of three offered battery options, while acceleration from 0-60 can be done in 3 seconds to 4.5 seconds, depending on the drive setup.
