Tesla launches Model 3 Highland in North America
In the US, listing prices start at 38,990 dollars for the updated Model 3 basic version with rear-wheel drive and 45,990 dollars for the all-wheel drive variant. In the configurator, the prices are indicated 3,000 dollars lower in each case, as Tesla already deducts “potential incentives and gas savings of 3,000 dollars” – but 38,990 or 45,990 dollars must be paid. In Canada, prices start at 53,990 CAD or 63,990 CAD. As reported, the Model 3 no longer qualifies for federal subsidies in the US as of January.
In North America, the colour “Stealth Grey” is the free basic paint. In Europe, “Pearl White Multi-Coat” is included in the price. In the US, the latter white paint costs an extra 1,000 dollars, as does “Deep Blue Metallic.” “Solid Black” costs 1,500 dollars more, and the new “Ultra Red” costs an additional 2,000 dollars.
Tesla has not released much information. The post on X (formerly Twitter) only states that the revised Model 3 is now available in North America – with a link to the Tesla website. Where the Model 3 Highland will be built for the North American markets is not specified. So far, Tesla has only produced the new Model 3 in China – for Asia and Europe. However, the start of production at the US plant in Fremont is probably imminent or could already have taken place in view of the recently announced market launch in North America
Tesla has adapted the design, equipment and probably also the technology for the Highland model. The most striking features are the new front end with new headlights and new rear lights at the rear, as well as new wheel rim designs. The range has increased for all drive variants; with rear-wheel drive it is up to 513 kilometres according to WLTP, with the all-wheel drive variant it is 629 kilometres.
