VinFast signs dealer agreements in the USA
The first group of VinFast dealers consist of Leith VinFast (North Carolina), Smith Haven VinFast (New York), Principle VinFast Grapevine (Texas), Hiley VinFast of Fort Worth (Texas), and VinFast Wichita (Kansas). There, customers will be able to purchase the VinFast VF 8 at the start, with plans to add the VF 6, VF 7, and VF 9 models when they launch in the US.
To serve the US market, VinFast launched the construction of an electric vehicle factory last summer, which is currently planned to launch production in 2025, after being postponed from summer 2024. An IPO was also signed with Black Spade Acquisition in May. At the time of the factory announcement, VinFast had already revealed its intentions to build up a dealership network in the US, after the first batch of VF 8 units was delayed, leading to an underwhelming market launch there.
“This is an important step affirming VinFasts commitment to expanding its retail sales network and shortening the time to deliver our products to market,” said Ms. Tran Mai Hoa, Deputy CEO of Sales and Marketing, adding: “Collaboration with dealers allows VinFast to quickly bring US customers high quality electric vehicles, good price and excellent aftersales policies, further promoting our mission of a sustainable future for all.”
After securing a foothold in its native Vietnam, VinFast has been on a steady global expansion course, announcing plans for a factory in India just days ago, preceded by an announcement to manufacture in Indonesia a few months ago.
