UL Solutions opens battery testing lab in Korea

The South Korean science safety company UL Solutions has opened the 'Korea Advanced Battery Laboratory'. Located in Pyeongtaek, this new facility is planned to provide customers with improved access to the latest safety technology to increase innovation and speed to market.

Global safety science company UL Solutions announced the opening of its Korea Advanced Battery Laboratory. The new tech facility is located in Pyeongtaek, a key EV battery manufacturing hub in South Korea and provides customers with improved access to the latest safety technology to increase innovation and speed to market. The new facility provides evaluation, certification and analysis services tailored to EV battery systems.

The new facility will test batteries to various “industry-leading standards, including, such UL and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards, United Nations (UN) goals and initiatives, and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) standards”. Further accommodations are also said to be possible for individual customer specifications
