Smart to release the #3 with a smaller battery
The new basic Pro variant is already listed on the Smart website at this price. Orders should be possible from the end of 2023 and the first deliveries should take place at the beginning of 2024. The new base model can also already be found on the Smart UK website, although no price has yet been specified.
Smart announced the prices for the #3 Pro+ with the 66 kWh battery at the European premiere of the #3 at the IAA Mobility in Munich at the beginning of September. This makes the SUV coupé exactly 1,000 euros more expensive than the #1 with the same battery and equipment.
Smart announced the new basic Pro version of the #1 with the smaller 49 kWh battery in mid-October. It costs 37,490 euros in Germany – so here too there is a difference of 1,000 euros to the #3.
The new #3 Pro achieves a WLTP range of 325 kilometres with the 49 kWh battery – with the €5,000 more expensive 66 kW battery, the range is between 435 and 455 kilometres, depending on the equipment. In terms of drive power (200 kW) and driving performance (such as acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds), the data for the #3 Pro corresponds to that of the Pro+.
The Smart #3 is 4.40 meters long (13 centimetres longer than the #1), but only 1.55 instead of 1.63 meters high. At 2.785 meters, the wheelbase of the #3 is slightly longer than that of the #1 (2.75 meters). The differences therefore go beyond the body shape at the rear, even if the design and drive technology remain very similar.
