Octopus includes Fisker Ocean in the lease offering
The energy firm has agreed to lease an initial fleet of 200 electric vehicles but says this is the start of a long-term partnership with Fisker. Octopus is the UK’s first lease provider to offer the new Fisker Ocean SUV.
Clients and staff may get their hands on the Ocean as salary sacrifice (leading to tax savings), business contract hire and personal leasing. The exact rates have not been disclosed.
The offer comes through Octopus Electric Vehicles, which now has 85 electric cars from 28 brands available, “covering every model available in the UK”. The unit adds that it works with over 3,900 businesses and has enabled 11,000 drivers to switch to EVs.
Typically, the leasing deals include the car, charge point installation and specialist EV energy tariffs.
Fisker drivers, for example, will be able to access Octopus Energy’s ‘Intelligent Octopus Go’ tariff, which guarantees six hours of off-peak charging at 7.5p per kWh each day. Drivers only choose the time and amount of charge they want their car back, and the Octopus platform charges when it’s best for the grid. The company estimates that an average driver can save up to £600 a year on charging costs compared to a standard variable tariff.

Each new manufacturer and model of electric cars gives drivers more choice, helps drive down costs and gets us closer to making the switch to having fully electric roads.”
The Fisker Ocean has been available in select European countries and the UK since May. These vehicles are made at Magna in Austria. However, the US company has reduced the production forecast repeatedly this year. In November, Fisker said it expects to produce at most 13,000 to 17,000 vehicles for the year- about 30 per cent of the initial capacity.
