India: Servotech to build charging infrastructure with Emcor
Servotech Power Systems, an Indian EV charger manufacturer and EV charge point operator Emcor Power Solutions signed an MoU, under which Emcor has committed to providing Servotech with 1000 sites across India to install EV chargers. Servotech will manufacture and install charging stations with capacities of 30kW and 60kW, as well as even higher capacity DC chargers, strategically distributed across India. Servotech did not explicitly mention the capacity of the HPC stations, however, on its website, the company advertises 360 kW DC charging stations, next to its AC and DC charging options. The project will be rolled out in multiple phases, with the initial phase encompassing the installation of 100 DC chargers in South India, followed by further expansion across India.
“The signed MOU aims to accelerate nationwide adoption of Electric Vehicles by developing a well-equipped and technologically advanced EV charging infrastructure. We understand that the widespread adoption of EVs require more than just cutting-edge EV chargers; it demands a comprehensive and robust charging infrastructure that is accessible to all,” said Raman Bhatia, MD of Servotech Power Systems, adding: “Our goal, as the leading EV charger manufacturer in India, having a substantial market share, is to transform this vision into reality.”
In August of this year, Servotech made headlines when it announced plans to build a charging station factory in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. With an investment of around 36 million dollars, the plant is expected to open its doors in early 2025.
