Vauxhall launches new entry-level versions of the Astra and Mokka Electric
The new Design versions of the Astra Electric and Mokka Electric will start at 37,795 and 36,610 pounds, respectively. That translates to roughly 43,800 and 42,420 euros and is supposed to make “Vauxhall’s electric range more accessible.”
The Mokka Electric Design has a 100 kW electric drive and a 50 kWh battery. It can thus go up to 209 miles (336 kilometres) on one charge, according to WTLP. The Astra Electric Design has a 115 kW electric motor and is fitted with a 54 kWh battery. Range is said to be up to 258 miles (425 kilometres).
Both EVs will be equipped “with a comprehensive suite of driver aids and safety technologies as standard, including lane departure warning, speed sign recognition, driver drowsiness alert and forward collision alert,” Vauxhall writes. Moreover, the Astra Electric Design will come with a “18-inch bi-colour alloy wheels and benefits from Vauxhall’s Pure Panel interior, which features a 10-inch touchscreen with voice-activated satellite navigation and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster.” The new entry-level Mokka Electric has “17-inch alloy wheels and features a seven-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.”
Both EVs can already be ordered in the UK. First deliveries to customers are scheduled for January 2024.
The New Corsa Electric is already available as the new ‘Design’ entry-level trim. Like the Mokka Electric Design, the New Corsa Electric Design comes with 100 kW powertrain and 50 kWh battery. But it can do a few more miles than the Mokka – 222 miles (or 357 kilometres) on one charge to exact. It will be available in the UK from 32,445 pounds, or 37,600 euros.
