BYD India is working with OHM E Logistic to deliver 300 e6 electric passenger vehicles across India in the next six months. The first 50 EVs will go to Hyderabad.

“BYD India’s partnership with OHM E Logistics is a pivotal moment in our journey towards driving sustainable transportation,” says Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President, Electric Passenger Vehicles, BYD India. “Delivering 300 All-New e6 electric passenger vehicles across India in the next six months is a testament to our commitment to reduce carbon emissions and promote electric mobility.”

The e6 is BYD’s first electric vehicle to adopt the company’s own Blade Battery in India. The battery has an energy content of 71.7 kWh, giving the car a city range of 520 kilometres and a combined range of 415 kilometres on a single charge. “This makes the All-New e6 India’s longest-range eMPV,” says BYD.

OHM E Logistics is active in the EV ride-hailing sector and has, according to its own accounts, “earned its reputation as the preferred EV cab service in Hyderabad catering to the diverse needs of travellers.” The company also specialises in supplying EVs to corporate clients.

Earlier this year, BYD announced a partnership with Evera, a New Delhi-based electric taxi service, to deliver a fleet of 100 e6 electric cars. The e6 has proven popular with Asian taxi companies. The first order for the vehicle was announced in 2018. It was for a fleet of 1,000 electric e6 taxis in Thailand.
