David Brown Automotive presents luxury Mini eMastered
David Brown Automotive, a British manufacturer of limited edition automobiles, has presented the electric ‘Mini eMastered’ based on the classic Mini. The Mini eMastered is powered by a 72-kilowatt electric motor that draws energy from a 18.8-kilowatt-hour battery pack, allowing the EV to travel for up to 110 miles (177 km) on a full charge and sprint from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 8.5 seconds. The top speed is limited to 92 mph.
The British automotive manufacturer writes that its first-ever electric model weighs only 1,411 pounds (650 kilograms), the same as the original gas-powered car, and that the battery pack can be charged at up to 6.6 kW from an AC source in just three hours.
In terms of pricing, the Mini eMastered by David Brown Automotive starts at whopping £125,000 in the UK, excluding VAT/local sales taxes, duties, registration fees and shipping from Silverstone.
While the exterior of the vehicle is very close to the original, the interior has been “comprehensively reimagined”. The seats are now fitted with brown leather and there is a wooden-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, coupled with more modern amenities such as a Pioneer infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and plenty of bespoke aluminum switches and buttons.
“The launch of the all-electric Mini eMastered reaffirms David Brown Automotive’s distinguished position as a driving force of the luxury automotive industry,” sales and marketing director at David Brown Automotive, Michelle Gay, said. “There is an inherent challenge in electrifying such an iconic model, to retain the high levels of reliability, performance, and quality that our customers expect. Mini eMastered is a shape that captures hearts and minds, and it is the embodiment of our passion, vision, and commitment to sustainable luxury today and into the future.”
