Lucid delivers Air sedan in Switzerland
The US electric car manufacturer, Lucid Motors, has just begun delivering its luxury sedan Air in Switzerland. Simultaneously to the start of Swiss deliveries, Lucid also released pricing for two more variants.
Starting with the handovers, Lucid Motors launched an event in Zurich, where the first Air EVs in Dream Edition were received by customers, specifically at the five-star hotel, The Dolder Grand, rather than at its flagship store in Geneva. European deliveries of this limited edition model began in December 2022 in Germany and the Netherlands, with Switzerland now following about six months later.
The Lucid Air Dream Edition will launch in two versions. The Dream Edition Performance focuses on power, boasting 828 kW (861 kilometres of WLTP range), while the Dream Edition Range emphasizes efficiency, offering a range of 883 kilometres. It should be noted that the Range model, despite being less powerful at 696 kW, is by no means weak.
Lucid does not disclose which version the initial customers have chosen in Switzerland, nor does it provide information on the planned volume of deliveries for the alpine nation this year.
In May, Lucid Motors announced pricing for the Air Pure AWD and Air Touring variants in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Norway. In Switzerland, these models cost CHF125,000 and 145,000, respectively. Deliveries in the four countries are expected to begin later this year.
In the most recent Charging Index report by the P3 consultancy, the top of the range Lucid Air Grand Touring came in first as the best model for longer trips thanks to its fast charging capacity. The model has yet to come to Europe and is available in the US.
