Fisker launches US deliveries of the Ocean One
Fisker has launched customer deliveries of the electric SUV Ocean in the USA. The first 22 US deliveries in California are of the Fisker Ocean One launch edition SUV. This initial group of vehicles was shipped to the US from Austria on an expedited basis.
Additional deliveries will continue through the summer, which Fisker had announced a few weeks ago in early June. At the time, the week of the 19th of June was being aimed for, so the company has met some minor delays on the road to customer deliveries. The first Ocean was completed in November last year, however, it was already evident at the time that it would take some time to ramp up volume production. The time frame at the time was to build 300 units in the first quarter of 2023, ramping up to 8,000 for the second quarter, and 15,000 for the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the year is to be concluded with a total number of 42,400 Fisker Ocean produced, meaning around 19,000 vehicles was their planned production capacity by the end of this year.
The delivered Fisker Ocean One vehicles are a launch edition model of the $68,999 ‘Fisker Ocean Extreme’, which run on a 113 kWh battery pack, allowing for an EPA range of 360 miles on standard 20″ wheels and tires, Fisker adds.
“We have been waiting for this moment ever since we started the development of the Fisker Ocean in October 2020,” Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker said. “As a California-based company, we are thrilled that our first US customers are finally getting behind the wheel of the Fisker Ocean and will experience its innovative features, class-leading 360-mile range, and highest levels of sustainability.”
