VW opens pre-order books for the Touareg R eHybrid
VW has started the pre-sales of the new Touareg R eHybrid in Germany. According to VW, the hybrid SUV features the most powerful drive of all series models by the company so far. Prices in Germany start from €93,870.

The visually and technically refreshed top model of the luxury class series comes onto the market as a plug-in hybrid with the most powerful drive of all VW series models and offers a system output of 340 kW or 462 hp. The new Touareg R eHybrid will start from 93,870 euros in Germany.
In terms of technical specifications, the new Touareg R eHybrid runs on a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbocharged engine and electric drive combo with a system output of 340 kW, managing up to 700 Nm of torque. This allows the Touareg R eHybrid to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and reach top speeds of up to 250 km/h.
“The Touareg R eHybrid is our absolute top model. No other model offers as much performance, travel comfort, driving dynamics and customised equipment as this model. In addition, it impresses with its off-road capabilities and, with a trailer weight of 3.5 tonnes, it is the perfect towing vehicle for demanding tasks,” added Peter Jost, Head of Marketing & Sales at Volkswagen R.
The previous versions of the hybrid Touareg were released in 2020, and featured a system output of 280 kW or 340 kW. German list prices started at 72,378 euros for the 280 kW Touareg R, while the 340 kW variant started from 84,660 euros.

The new Volkswagen Touareg PHEV is now available to order in the UK. The plug-in hybrid drive of the Touareg eHybrid offers 381 PS of power, while the Touareg R eHybrid delivers 462 PS. Recommended retail prices are £68,810 (eHybrid) and £80,370 (R eHybrid).
Volkswagen praises the flexibility of the vehicle, as Hannah Doherty, Touareg Product Manager at Volkswagen UK, underlines: ” new Touareg really does offer everything, whether you’re looking for a rugged off-roader, a smooth long-distance cruiser or a towing workhorse – and all with the superior comfort and high-tech features you’d expect from Volkswagen’s flagship model.”
