Aehra unveils design of electric sedan
The new Italian premium electric car brand Aehra has unveiled the exterior design of its second model. The sedan, so far simply called Aehra Sedan, follows the SUV model unveiled last autumn. Both use the same platform – and also the design language.
Already the SUV model stood out because of its aerodynamic body with a flat front and curved roof arch – a basic design that Aehra also applies to the sedan. In addition, details such as the shape of the headlights and the aerodynamically optimised holders of the exterior camera mirrors are reminiscent of the electric SUV. For the sedan, everything is just a little flatter.
The press release, of course, portrays it a little differently. According to the company, the design was inspired by “classical Italian design principles and nature” and strives to “to set new standards for aerodynamic efficiency and interior space”. In return, Aehra CEO Hazim Nada confirms that the final production variants should “look virtually identical to the final production model that will arrive in 2026”.
Not only are the SUV and sedan similar in design, but large parts of the drive technology are also identical: the battery developed together with Miba Battery Systems is supposed to help Aehra’s sedan and SUV achieve ranges of 800 kilometres. It is striking that Aehra makes the same range claim of 800 kilometres for both models.
In the announcement, Aehra focuses on the design and does go into details about the technology. Around the premiere of the SUV model, Aehra founder Hazim Nada stated that the battery should not be larger than 120 kWh. The power of the drive is to be between 550 and 600 kW.
The market launch of both models is planned for 2026 in North America, Europe, China and the Gulf States. A price range is not mentioned; for the SUV, there was still talk of 160,000 to 180,000 dollars. With “substantial private financing in place”, the company says it has “established a clear roadmap to deliver its unique, transformative business model”.
