LiveWire appoints new CEO

Leadership change at LiveWire, the electric motorbike brand of Harley-Davidson: Karim Donnez is appointed as the new CEO with effect from 12 June 2023 and replaces Jochen Zeitz in this function, who will, however, remain Chairman of the LiveWire Group.

Donnez joins LiveWire from Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP). Previously, he worked for Rio Tinto and Accenture. He is expected to act as an “entrepreneurial business leader with a demonstrable track record of driving transformational growth through both strategy development and implementation”, in the words of Jochen Zeitz, who previously held the positions of chairman and CEO in parallel.

“Having successfully stood-up LiveWire as a brand and listed the Company on the NYSE, I’m excited to pass the baton to Karim and to welcome him as LiveWire’s new CEO, following an extensive global search process,” Zeitz added.

LiveWire was initially the model name of the first electric Harley, but later became the name of the entire electric sub-brand. The Harley-Davidson LiveWire – first unveiled for the US market in 2019 – was renamed LiveWire One in the process.

This spring, Harley-Davidson also launched its LiveWire electric motorbike brand in Europe. The LiveWire One has been available for reservation in Germany, France, the Netherlands and the UK since mid-March. Deliveries have been underway since April.
