Zeeba to electrify California fleet with Ford

The Californian fleet leasing provider Zeeba is procuring almost 250 electric vehicles from Ford. These are a mix of the Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning and E-Transit models. Additionally, Ford will supply Zeeba with AC chargers at various locations in Southern California.

The number of charging stations is not specified, but Ford Pro charging stations will be able to charge vehicle models of all brands in the Zeeba fleet. The charging stations will be equipped with a software subscription that supports over-the-air (OTA) software updates for continuous improvements. This should enable Zeeba’s charging operations to be optimised in the future.

“Our fleet electrification goal is to transition 50 per cent of our fleet to electric vehicles by 2024. Ford Pro’s vehicles, charging solutions and software will help us reach our goal,” said Kayvon Marashi, Chief Executive Officer at Zeeba. “The charging component to fleet electrification is critical and we’re thrilled to work with Ford Pro to implement the charging infrastructure needed to meet our customers’ electric needs.”

Last autumn, Zeeba signed an agreement with Canoo to purchase 5,450 electric vehicles, with an initial binding commitment of 3,000 units by 2024.

With its commercial leasing vehicles, Zeeba’s clientele is primarily small and medium-sized enterprises. For those customers, Zeeba says it offers a complete mobility package so that SMEs can “focus on their products and customers”.
