Autoflight to deliver 205 eVTOLs to Evfly
The Chinese air taxi start-up Autoflight has signed a contract with the company Evfly for an initial 205 of its electric air taxis. Evfly specialises in the operation of eVTOLs and their fleet management and is ordering an unspecified mix of the ‘Prosperity I’ and ‘Prosperity Cargo’ models.
The first ten Prosperity Cargo will be operated in the Middle East in promising markets such as the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, with subsequent operations in Asia and Africa. Autoflight recently completed what it claims is the world’s longest eVTOL flight to date, as reported. The flying electric taxi ‘Prosperity I’ covered a distance of 250 kilometres without a charging stop.
“This is a fantastic deal and illustrates just a few of the many geographies that will benefit from eVTOLs in both cargo and personal mobility,” said AutoFlight president Omer Bay-Yohay, adding: “The team at EVFLY has a proven track record in successfully managing freight and cargo businesses and we’re delighted to be partnering with them in what could be one of the first commercial eVTOL operations in the world.”
“AutoFlight has a proven aircraft, as demonstrated by their world record flight and thousands of additional flight test miles. They are a natural choice for EVFLY, as both parties will bring expertise to the nascent eVTOL cargo and passenger markets,” added EVFLY’s founder and CEO, Yannick Erbs.
