According to carmaker Fisker, its first model, the Fisker Ocean, is getting ready to hit the streets in over 20 countries before the end of the year. Homologation testing for Europe and the US is said to be completed in March. And once the regulatory approval process is finished, sales could kick off.

Fisker will first make the EV available in the US, Canada, Austria, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and France, followed by the UK (right-hand drive), Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, and India (also right-hand drive) in 2023. Additional countries, including China, are expected to follow in 2024.

There seems to be great interest in the Fisker Ocean. As of 24 February, there were some 65,000 reservations. That is about 2.000 more than at the start of production in November.

The vehicle is being built by Magna in Graz. 56 units have already rolled off the production line there. That might sound a bit behind schedule. After all, Fisker planned to manufacture 300 units in the first quarter of 2023, and 8.000 in the second quarter. In total, the carmaker wants to build 42.400 units this year – a figure the carmaker continues to stick to.

Moreover, Fisker has released the first teaser images of its second model Pear. The California carmaker started accepting reservations a few weeks ago and says it received 5,600 pre-orders by 24 February.

The images show – or tease – the exterior design. Rear lighting is a continuous light strip around the back window, while the front lights feature the signature Fisker dual light bars surrounded by high-tech light graphics. According to Fisker, the “dynamic shape” has already undergone “extensive aerodynamic testing in the wind tunnel”, and Fisker expects the final version to have a range of “well over 300 miles.”

Fisker hopes to achieve a base price of 29,900 dollars once the car goes into production. The first models are scheduled for delivery in 2024.
