Eve Energy increases production capacities in Jingmen
The Chinese battery cell manufacturer Eve Energy, whose customers include BMW, has increased its production capacities in Jingmen in the Chinese province of Hubei by a total of 73 GWh with the commissioning of four sub-plants.
Eve Energy will now commence the production of battery cells for electric vehicles as well as for stationary applications at the Jingmen factory. In addition, the groundbreaking ceremony for the previously announced new 60 GWh factory has now taken place in Jingmen. This is scheduled to go into operation in 2024 and increase Eve Energy’s production capacities in Jingmen to a total of over 200 GWh.
The new production capacities also “promotes the exploration of material recovery and recycling as part of the company’s environmental protection pledges with green electricity used”, according to Eve. Just last month, Eve Energy also announced plans to build two new battery production facilities in China, and will use the new capacities to produce their cylindrical cells, for which the Chinese battery manufacturer already has supply contracts with BMW and Aptera Motors.
