Blue Corner to build 280 AC charging points in Italy

The Belgian charging infrastructure provider Blue Corner will gradually install, operate and maintain 280 charging points for electric cars at business and conference centres in Brussels, Antwerp and Liège over the coming years.

This is provided for in a ten-year contract Blue Corner has now signed with the event company BluePoint. Despite the similar names, there is no connection between the two companies: Blue Corner has belonged to US company Blink Charging since 2021, while BluePoint is a subsidiary of the Belgian industry and technology association Agoria.

The three-phase AC wallbox EQ 200 with up to 22 kW from Blink Charging will be used. These will be built at BluePoint business and conference centres in the three cities mentioned and can then be used at events by the more than 320,000 employees of the association’s more than 2,000 member companies.

“We want to support and engage our members to develop a mobility plan leading to the modal shift so that by the year 2025 at least half of our members have made this important step,” says Jean-Marc Timmermans, AGORIA Business Group Leader Manufacturing, Transport & Mobility Technologies. Olivier Van Schap, Managing Director of Blue Corner, adds: “We welcome the employees of the more than 2,000 AGORIA member companies to our expanding EV charging network throughout Belgium and helping drive the adoption of EVs everywhere.”
